concealed carry glock 43x

Concealed Carry Glock 43x - Glock offers a variety of pistols in long, standard, compact and subcompact calibers – and their premium offerings are evident.

These pistols are small and light, optimized for concealed carry. Why while these small pistols don't offer the same magazine capacity as other compact or standard Glocks, or the same firepower as other larger calibers, they are among the best subcompact options on the market today.

Of particular interest is Glock's G43X Black, one of several Slimline pistols the company offers, along with the G48. Although the two pistols are similar in that they both feature a rigid polymer frame, the G43X has a shorter slide length, perfect for concealed carry, while the G48 has a slightly longer slide.

Glock's Slimlines offer the shooter a slimmer pistol frame, for shooters with smaller hands or for situations where concealment is required. This is accomplished by using a thinner standard 10-round magazine. While a 10-round magazine certainly offers less capacity than some standard Glock pistol sizes, it's almost unbeatable for a non-heart pistol size.

It's also worth noting that the 43X is chambered in 9x19mm. While it's by no means the most powerful gun on the market, with a 10-round 43X magazine capacity, it's not a bad choice at all.

The heart of the 43X is Glock's Marksman barrel, part of the Gen 5 Glocks that the Austrian company says is "an improved barrel taper based on the proven polygonal barrel design that provides improved accuracy." ”Glock is known for its proprietary barrel design that is said to provide better exchange between bullet and barrel, allowing for less gas leakage and less bullet deformation. Glock claims this translates to a longer pistol range as well as better overall accuracy. For the 43X, the barrel is 87 mm or 3.41 inches long.

Another improvement of the Gen 5 is the front rows of the pistol slide. Previous models only featured caps on the back of the slide, and this newer surface provides better grip even with wet or dirty hands and gloves. The slide is also slightly wider at the end, which provides better ergonomics. Finally, the slide is treated with Glock's nDLC surface treatment, basically a non-reflective and scratch-resistant coating.

Gen 5 pistols, including the 43X, retain the previous Glock thumb grip and have redesigned features for a better grip.

Although the 43X Black is a combination of several Glock pistol variants, the final product is a subcompact pistol with good magazine capacity and certainly Glock's reputation for quality, accuracy and durability.

Comparing The Glock 43 Vs. 43x

Unless you've been living under a rock, you've heard about the new Glock 43X and Glock 48 that were officially announced on January 2nd, 2019. Immediately, people took to social media platforms and gave their opinion on the gun before you. never seen, picked up or shot one. I will admit that I had my thoughts on both pistols when Glock announced them. At first glance, it doesn't look like a pizza that would suit my daily situation. But I love shiny new things, so I was looking forward to reviewing one.

I thought the first time I would meet them was at the Shot 2019 show. But luckily I was able to get my hands on them for review this week. While I wasn't excited to add more to my workload before heading to Vegas this Sunday, I couldn't resist the offer to test drive the Glock 43X and Glock 48.

Originally, I was going to do separate reviews of each of these pistols, but they are so similar that I decided to combine them both into one review. The difference is that the Glock 43X has a similar length to the Glock 43 and the Glock 48 has a similar length to the Glock 19.

First, I want to say that I am not a Glock guy. But I'm also far from a Glock Hater. Now I have a Glock 19 MOS and a Glock 43 depending on what I'm wearing that day. But I recently returned to carrying a Glock in early 2018. Before that, I carried a Springfield Armory XD Mod.2. I will leave the reason for the conversion to another article. The XD has been my main EDC since 2014. Before switching back to the XD, I carried a Glock 26, a Glock 23 and a Taurus PT-140, which was my first gun to break it out in weekend handgun training. courses .

I only mention this to show that I am not wedded to one manufacturer or gun. I have owned several Berettas and enjoy shooting them to this day. I grew up shooting Berettas. The only things I remember about my father were the Beretta and the cowboy gun, I don't remember the model. I don't carry any of them or use them as home defense shots. They are nostalgic and fun for me to shoot on the range.

With that behind us, let's get to the review itself. Here are the details on both the Glock 43X and the Glock 48. I'm also adding other popular headphones for comparison.

I don't have a Sig P365 to compare it to but check out the Gun Talk Glock G43X vs Sig P365 video here.

Expanding on the success of the Glock 42 .380 and Glock 43 9mm, both the Glock 43X and Glock 48 are 9mm single pistols. Glock classifies them as their Silver Slimline series. Both have grip lengths that are as compact as the Glock 19. When I first saw the words "Glock 43X", I thought that this could be a Glock 43 with a longer barrel and slide that would be interesting. But no, they went the way that the Glock 19X made the handle longer and the barrel and the 43X moved the same way. As for the Glock 48, it's basically a slimmer Glock 19 with one star.

Two other features that stand out are the nPVD coated silver slide and the front layers. Whether they will offer the pistols in a standard black frame remains to be seen. The sights on the two guns I received are factory standard polymer sights, but they will also be available with steel and night sights.

The grip pattern is similar to the Glock 43 with squares (or pyramids) that don't protrude as much as the lines on the Gen 4 and Gen 5 models. And even though the Glock43X and Glock 48 are Gen 5, the magazines have an orange fan like the Gen 5 models. One thing I noticed is that the 43X fits perfectly with the accessories I have for the Glock 43.

Regardless of whether any of these pistols would fit my concealed carry situation, I still wanted to get to the range and kill them. I got to the outdoor gun range closest to the house when they opened the morning after they closed. I planned to shoot at least 250 rounds with each of them to see how they shot, check for misfires and see if shooting would change my opinion. Before now, about 250 bullets were fired with those two guns.

It was a very cold morning in Louisiana around 40 degrees. My fingers were already sore from a tough jiu-jitsu class the day before so loading 500 rounds into 10-round magazines was unpleasant, to say the least.

But I enjoyed shooting both shots. Let me start by saying that I have had no problems with the Glock 43X and Glock 48. Both guns were faster and more accurate than mine. I quickly remembered why I need to go to the gun range to train more often, one of my 2019 resolutions.

Did I enjoy shooting the G43X and G48 over the G43? There are. But for the same reasons I like shooting my G19 more than my G43, it allows you to have a full hand. The Glock 48 also didn't feel like the G43X with the smaller barrel. Interestingly, I seemed to shoot the G43X better than the 48. While I was enjoying shooting the 43X
